OBS camp day 2

Along the camp..I met different ppl. Get to know different ppl..and I realise not all are really nice ppl. Im careful now..who to respect and who to not..not everyone is tt approachable..

Hmmm..Woke up at 6.30..amazingly..I didn't feel tired at all..or uncomfortable...although I slept on hard ground for a few hours. Except for my eyes..I forgot to apply my eye drops on time..my eye sight got abit blur for a moment. sensitive eyes..and they dry up easily. After washing up and breakfast..we went to pack our bags to get ready for our expedition. What are we gonna do for expedition? The instructors whould never tell us till the very last minute..keep us in suspense. Yup then gathered with Da Gama for a briefing on our expedition by Mario. Lolx..It was a funny briefing..Mario always used malay words to make us laugh...like "Ba long long.." Or.. "Mang kok" something like tt la..Im not good in malay. When briefed by Dean on our destination we're abit shocked..Lolx..Our base camp was at the south-west of the island..and our destination was at the quarry area at the north-west. common sense would tell u that the shortest way is to travel westwards and up..which covers only 1/4 of the island. Instead..Dean told us.."Ok..We're going to sail down to coney Island..then down the the shores of sembawang..then along the coasts..then travel up again to east of Ubin..then kayak up north..then follow the coast towards west then we'll reach there."Our Mouths Were wide open..Oh damn...tt's 3/4 of the island...We bargained..then Dean gave us a second choice..."Ok..then we'll kayak to the south...take up yur kayaks..then travel through the mangroves up North..then sail west.."It's even worse buddy...Then we Begin to Tell them that there was a shorter way which we only need to travel 1/4 of the island. And guess wat Dean said? The map did not map the waters of ubin in the west..so he said.."NoNonO...Cannot! you know why? coz over here..(he points at the west of ubin)..Got no water! too narrow! so cannot go here..."-.-""" LAMEin the end He allowed us to travel the shorter way..

I've Never learn how to kayak before..it's my first time. Dean and Mario gave us a short lesson on how to kayak..then he taught us capsize drill...and then everyone had to try at least once on wat to do when the kayak capsizes. Zhi Ling and Jia Yun wanted to change partners with Me and Ke Ling. At first I was abit doubtful..Im a newbie in such things..and the two girls do not have any kayakign exprience..whereas ker ling has. I don't want to lag behind you know...or worse capsize. had a long thought..and What The Heck...Let's give it a try. Jia yun was my partner now while zhi ling got ker ling. And true Enough..I had difficulties with my kayak..everyone is set out to shore..expect for me..lol...we're still stuck at the shore at first. haha..then when we set out to shore..we had difficulties getting the kayak to move in a straight line. But Not long..From the last to one of the heads of the group..heh heh..we caught up..this doesn't beat me..lol..JacQ got sEaSick..and vomitted..so poor kai wei had to paddle by herself..so they were lagging behind..we had to frequently raft up and wait. although the journey was short..we took 5 hours! from 12-5...haix..

Reached our destination..hmmm..wat can I say..it's a place full of rocky grounds and tall grass...Pitched our tents..the ground was too hard to put the pegs in..so we used stones to support our tents by tieing our ropes there... then we went for a dip in the freshwater lake! haha! the lake was previously a granite quarry..now it's filled up with freshwater for tourist. Got into our life vest and Dean Pushed us down one by one..The lake was deep ya..but it was very clear..I could even spot my shoelaces untied..lol.. after the dip..we dried up at our camping area. it was close to 7...the skies are getting dark. then all of a sudden there were swarms of flying ants flying about our camp area..they don't bite but they are damn freaking irritating..the ants will land on u and 'tickle' you..not just one..but alot.. andy was complainign and trying to swap the things away but only to find more coming..at that point of time we're changing to our dry clothes! so imagine we were changing and these things came at the 'right' time. haha..I try staying still..but soon they were all over me..ppl might mistook you for a hive..But all u need to do is to shake them off...and they'll fly away..but they kept coming..irritating.

Dinner was noodles accompanied by mushrooms. It was dark...when you looked up to the skies..you can see the stars quite clearly. haha..star gazing! I just love it...I just love to look at the distant shining stars..just amazing..But I know these stars seen here are peanuts to those I've yet to see overseas. Spotted the small and big dipper..

Turned in at around 11+..Andy was comlaining tt some flying ants have entered our tent and are 'attacking' him...lol..me and Ej were safe and sound..that night Ker lIng and gang didn't make as much noise. And that night..in the middle of the night..I heard the mellow karaoke sounds again..hmmm..Now im in the North of ubin..how come I can still hear the songs which I heard in the south? Fell asleep..and woke up again..then the sounds of the flute of the song's My heart will go on began to sound..wow..wat a time to play such song..Im near the sea..and it's so late at night...

But wat the heck...
