Never regret that I created this internet space 9 years ago.

Just wanted to let you know dear blog,

That I am still well alive,
doing good.

So sorry we missed our 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th anniversary.

Lots of things happened! So many things changed! As I look back, I laugh at all the things I've gone through as a teenager. I laughed at the way I thought, at the things I record, and even from the way I typed my words.

Neither do I like to HIGHLIGHT MY KEY WORDS. 

I guess plain old black and white text should be fine for now =)


Vivent-le-reve, living the dream, ah, how true

I am now living the dream. As much as I was clueless about life 9 years ago, I guess I really did had alot of faith to title my blog "living the dream"

But wherever God takes me, I guess my dear blog will be a permanent imprint of my past life, thanks for being the benchmark to tell me how far I've come, and how much further I must go.

I am now at work feeling so excited! Not because I love my job, but because I can't wait to attend the Cats of the World preview party this evening! Imagine having your photo framed up on the wall! Imagine your photo seen by alot of people attending the exhibition! OoOo..I can't wait!

Helpless

Helpless

Looking at the news of disasters that are happening right now, I can’t help but to find it disturbing. I stepped out of my office looking forward to a nice meal at Tiong bahru hawker centre and my heart sank suddenly.

Here I am safe in a tiny island going about doing the same stuff every afternoon, in search of glorious food. While at the same time, thousands of people are fighting to survive the aftermath of a disaster. I see green pastures and sunshine, while they are looking at debri of fallen buildings and darkness right before their very eyes. I see life around me, while death looms at the very hearts of the victims.

Here I am watching the news, looking at them dying, but I just can't do anything. For a moment, I felt really helpless. God, why take so many lives? Can I do anything? Can I help in anyway?

"Yes you can..."
"Just pray..."

But overall, I feel really fortunate at the same time. Thank God for planting me in Singapore. To all the mercy relief helpers out there. *salute*!

Betcha didn't saw the surprise coming!

Actually we had a few versions to surprise him. But in the end none of the versions were put in used as everything changed in the last minute.

1) Simple: Reach his house at mid-night to surprise him (that was the inital final plan)

why it didn't work out:
Plans change.. please look at plan no. 4

2) Simple + a little element of surprise: I intended to call up Jie Lun's parents so that we could ask them to join XF along in the birthday surprise. So instead of us doing all the work, jie lun's parents can help out to add some element of surprise on the morning of 30th April

why it didn't work out:
I did not have any of Jie Lun's relatives' contact number. I tried to call his house number and hoped that any family would answer the phone instead of him. But according to murphy's law, what goes wrong will go wrong.

3) The "help someone is following me" surprise: I loved this plan, Mei Ling will call up Jie Lun around mid-night to ask for his help. She will lie to him that someone is following her while she's walking back home and that she needs Jie Lun's help to accompany her back home to safety. We will then be waiting elsewhere for the surprise while he comes to find mei ling.

why it didn't work out:
Mei Ling can't act.

4) In the end: Jie Lun called me up for a karaoke session and we ended up at CDANS to sing the night away before we could catch the Man U-barca match. So we (mk,ml,pk,fab,des) gathered at cdans at mid-night, bought a chocolate pound cake together with candles.

And of course.. being off guard, he was caught by surprise..

Happy birthday ol' friend.. happy 21st and grow up please.. hahaha.. =P

If there is one thing I wish for my birthday, I wished that XF could meet up again as one big family, one big basketball team. Not just once, but for a very long time.
But reality would set in, telling me that it would not be very possible.

Maybe we could meet up like once a year? Im planning for a Bangkok + Pattaya Trip at the end of the year.. Who's with me!

Let's Talk about Fear:

I would say this year's advertisement effort for the NBA playoffs/finals have been well done. It's the final push for the title of their lives..

Some how or rather, we're all pushing ourselves for the title of our lives too, just like Kobe and Shaq yearning for the NBA title.

But fear comes along and tries to take these dreams away..

However I like their spirit:

"Fear?"

"I like the fear..."

"It means Im Close...It means...Im Ready"

DONT LET FEAR TAKE WHAT YOU MOST YEARN FOR!
